Shipping & Returns

The Binoculars Company only supplies products to customers within the UK.

A £4 carriage and packing charge is applied to all orders at the checkout.

Goods ordered from our website should almost always be in stock if the site accepts your order. We normally despatch the item(s) within two working days, but during busy periods this timescale may be extended, and goods may be delivered up to ten working days from order placement. Exceptionally, if we cannot supply an item, we shall seek your further instructions. In this regard please ensure that your email address is correctly typed.

Damage on receipt – please note any damage to packaging on receipt when signing for your goods (see below).

Goods remain the property of Trappings Ltd until fully paid for.

Pre-despatch checks

For some products, and particularly where delivery of a product is specified to an address other than the cardholder's billing address, additional security checks may be made prior to despatch, including the posting of a release code to the householder / cardholder at the billing address.

All Returns

Please read the instructions below before returning any product.

Most returns are processed for us under fulfilment arrangements. If sending a return or repair contact us for a Returns reference.  You will be given the reference together with relevant return address.
All products to be returned remain the responsibility of the customer until received by The Binoculars Company (Trappings Ltd.) or its agents, so packaging adequate for the protection of the instrument and postal insurance sufficient to cover its value, are strongly recommended. 

Transit Damage / Faulty product returns

Products will have been sent out by post or by carrier, and a signature will usually be required on delivery. Please note any damage to packaging by your signature, and for valuable items keep or photograph the damaged packaging.

Goods suffering transit damage or discovered to be faulty on delivery must be reported to us by post or Email within ten (calendar) days of receipt. You will be given a returns reference, together with instructions on how and where to return the faulty item.  The item will be replaced and postage costs incurred relative to our return instructions will be refunded.
NB Such refund will not apply to any returns not pre-authorised.

Guarantee Returns & Repairs

Unless stated otherwise, all new products supplied by The Binoculars Company are guaranteed against manufacturing faults for one year.  Visionary and Olivon products carry a two year, and some Ostara products carry a ten year, manufacturers’ parts and labour warranty against manufacturing faults. Parts may be guaranteed for longer, but we only quote the Parts and Labour element on our website descriptions, since, at to-day’s low, new instrument prices, workshop time for repairs can quickly negate the viability of repairing many faults if the labour is no longer covered.

Guarantees do not cover eyepiece rubber or covers, wear and tear, misuse, or accidental damage.

If your instrument needs attention, please contact us first to ascertain the likelihood of a guarantee repair / replacement, and/or viability of a repair.
Repairs are processed for us under third party fulfilment arrangements. The address where to send your item will vary dependent on the nature of the repair.

New Product Returns

Most returns are processed for us under fulfilment arrangements. If sending a return or repair contact us for a Returns reference.  You will be given the reference together with relevant return address.

We hope that you will be entirely satisfied with your new product, but if not you can return it to us. Provided that we receive it in pristine condition (ie product & packaging as new) within 15 days from your receiving it, we shall issue a refund to the credit or debit card used for the original purchase to the value of the product less an £8 re-stocking charge, or we can credit the full value against another product (once only).
Note: As stated above, return carriage, both in terms of cost and the maintenance of a product's good condition, and insurance, are the customer's responsibility. Items not received in good condition (including the product's packaging and accessories) cannot be credited. Such items will be held for at least one month before disposal, but can be forwarded if we receive instructions and the relevant postage.
