T2 and Stepping rings

T2 rings to connect SLR cameras to `scope adaptors; and
Stepping rings to adapt filter threads to match camera adaptors.

SLR cameras can be connected to most telescopes directly by attaching a digi-scoping adaptor to the telescope, and replacing the camera lens with a T2 ring (adaptor). These two items have matching T2 photo threads to connect together.
SLR cameras have lens mountings, specific to the make or model, which enable the interchange of lenses. The T2 ring provides this camera specific fitting on one side, with a standardised female T2 photo thread on the other side. All of our telescope SLR camera adaptors (which fit on to their respective telescope's eyepiece dust cover thread) connect to this T2 photo thread.

Olivon`s DCA camera adaptor is fitted with a stepping ring to achieve this T2 thread (& hence attach it to the SLR camera`s specific T2 adaptor). If removed, this stepping ring reveals a male 52mm filter thread on the DCA, which enables attachment of the DCA to the female filter thread of many camera lenses (useful if, as in SLR look-alikes, the camera lens cannot be detached from the camera body). Where a camera's filter thread is not 52mm, the series of Stepping rings in this section can be used to mate that 52mm thread (and hence the DCA) to virtually any camera lens` filter thread.

Stepping rings can also be used in conjunction with a T2 to 52mm stepping ring, to adapt those SLR camera adaptors with only the T2 thread (eg Far-Sighted T77 Cam Adaptor, Visionary Cam Adaptor `A`) to the filter threads of most cameras.

Note: Whilst adaptors may give good connectivity, be sure that the weight of your camera is adequately supported so as not to damage the telescope.
